3 Things You MUST Know Before Asking An Agency for Help

The better prepared and organized you are, the more likely it is that you will be able to find the help that you need to pay bills quickly.

Here are 3 things you MUST know before you ask an Agency for help:

1. Not all agencies are alike.

  • Some may be able to help with all of your need.
  • Some may be able to help with part of what you need.
  • Some may not be able to help at all with your particular need.

Remember: If they don’t offer the kind of help that you need, always ask if they know of other places in your area that might be able to help you.

2. Different agencies have different Eligibility Requirements

  • Some have no specific requirements and will help anyone in need.
  • Some may require you to provide certain documents; such as, verification of citizenship, residency, employment, income or other types of information
  • If there are documents required, be sure to have them available so the application process doesn’t get delayed any longer than necessary.

Be sure you understand exactly what is required for them to be able to help you.

3. Different agencies have different Application Processes

  • Some agencies you can call to apply.
  • Some require an appointment.
  • Some you can just walk in.
  • Some you fill out an application on line.
  • Some don’t require an application at all.

If you don’t follow the correct application process, you may end up at the bottom of the list.

And remember: Getting an appointment does not mean that you are guaranteed assistance.

IN SUMMARY:

Be sure you understand exactly what the agency can and cannot help with.

Be sure you understand what is expected and required from you.

You will be able to find help faster by being prepared and organized.

I am a Registered Nurse and have been helping people for over 30 years

Throughout the years I have become acutely aware of the emotional toll on people facing financial difficulties, and the challenges they have trying to find help when they need it most desperately.

I had often wished there was a single source where people could go, to find out where to look for help and learn how to access it – quickly and easily. I never could find it.

That’s why I now research information and make it available for you in an organized, easy-to-use format on my blog @ www.FindHelpToPayBills.wordpress.com

      Hi Glynon,

Look under the “Quick Info” section on the right of this page and click on Rent/Mortgage. You will find a list of resources there that help to pay rent throughout the country, as well as information on how to contact them.
