I recently underwent nuerosurgery to remove a tumor about one and a half golf balls in size. I’ve tried the salvation army….but they don’t have anymore funds available. I have $600 avaible towards the $1710…..but I’m $1100 short. If anyone out there no any other places I can go to….I would greatly appreciate it. I’m so hurt that my own mother is more concerned with storage space than me living o on the streets. I could hardly believe what you wrote, if you think you are above all of this why are you at this site. I lost $40.00 just a month ago. It was my grocery money, no I do not smoke or drink. I am disabled. I did work for 37 years and our mighty government gives me a check for $832.00 a month. Try living on that and paying for your medication, rent, utilities and food. Obviously, life has been good for you, now why not try to have some compasion for some of us that have had a horrible life. Count your blessings and try not to judge others.

I have no idea where to start but Im doing this for my mom. I feel kinda weird posting this but i hope someone responds to me because I dont know what else to do as her oldest duaghter. I will start from the begining. It all started 2 years ago that we found out my mom was in the 4th stage of thyroid cancer. It has been a very rough journey because the doctors didnt think she would make it (considering its 4th stage). Most thyroid cancer patients find it in the 1st or 2nd stage because of the symptoms, but my mother didnt have the “normal” symptoms and now has it worse than anything, so the cancer society doesnt even “support” thyroid cancer patients because it isnt as “severe” as others BUT its 4th stage (when any cancer starts spreading to bone; Cancer is cancer it doesnt matter what kind or type it is at that point!) . My mom is a single women living in a house all by herself, and was doing fine all on her own before we found out she was as sick as she was. When we found out she had her cancer the doctor told us she has been sick for at least 8 years. Thats when it all made sense to us when she kept getting sick out of the blue or just bizzare things of her not feeling good. Like not being able to eat for weeks at a time. Not one doctor was able to figure out what was wrong with her! she did a bunch of useless tests that costs all this money and never was there an answere to how she was always feeling. It wasnt till she cracked her ribs that a doctor noticed all the nodules throughout her lungs. From that point on our lives changed. I moved to be with my boyfriend who is active duty in the air force because i needed to be able to take care of myself too. I am a full time college student and only work part time. It was stressting me out because I couldnt help my mom pay for anything and it was always my fault. I just need help ti finding a way to help my mom pay for everything that she owes. Shes got her doctor bills up the wall and cant keep up with her housing expenses and feels like she has no where to go for help at all. I feel the same way but I still hope—and there just has to be something that can help her because I know she isnt the only one. We have done everything. Cancer society places but they only pay for stuff during while shes on treatement but they dont support thyroid and she does radiation treatements. I have a feeling they doctor doesnt want to give her kemo because she wont live through it and whats keeping her alive is the radiation.
Anyone who has advice or any ideas on where to get better help beacuse what we are doing isnt even working…and I cant take seeing my mom like this. we have done car washes and stuff like that but you can only do those so many times and actually make money.

I to need help to take care of December and January rent. I have contacted the catholic charities usa and community action agency and the health & human services for family support division in Austin which is Travis County. I have heard absolutely nothing from them. The have you fill out an application and tell you that your on a waiting list with 850 more families in need. The other charities are out of money and eventhough they tell you to come back by the end of the month for the new month and refill out applications, nothing happens. I lost my job a year ago andhave not been able to find good work and I too have 2 children. I will be homeless by January 19th. because thats when I go to court for Eviction and the churches I have around here and other places close have no money either. I know because I’ve asked them all. So if this website can work miracles then I know theres a future for this country an the people in it.

I found this site out of desperation of trying to find rent assistance in northern Louisiana. Your site had some great links but unfortunately, Shreveport LA doesn’t want to help anyone that isn’t low income or other discriminatory circumstances. It’s sad. I’ve always worked and was able to pay my bills and provide for my family. I’ve helped so many people by giving money and other things they need. Now the time is here where I just need a little help because my husband died leaving me with funeral expenses and bills. I’ve had to move which was very expensive in itself. I can’t believe churches around here won’t even help. Salvation Army and United Way either. What’s left???

Family of three looking for a home we can afford to rent. I had a nervous breakdown in August (our marriage was on the rocks and I broke while I was at work, we have been working on it and we are doing better). I was the ONLY person in my department and if I didn’t get the route done on time it wasn’t getting done. So -INSTEAD- of being fired (I know I could have gotten unemployment but in the long run would have hurt my chances at finding a job) I quit with some grace. My husband works pizza delivery (I know not the best job -BUT- he his looking, jobs are so thin here) and doesn’t make enough to cover everything per month. I myself am job hunting regularly (I know we need to cut bills and most would say cut the internet -BUT- when I go job hunting my responce to “can I get an application?” is “You can find it on Monster.com or snagajob.com” via the internet) We don’t have cable, long ago we bought the intenna (free tv channels includeing PBS) We do have cell phones and are looking into down-gradeing (no we don’t have home lines) We do have a car payment with the insurance payments. We, since the moneys tight no-longer go out to eat, and buy mainly the store-brand food (waiting on food stamps to process). We have been looking for some place to go, the only problem is that when we do find a place we -STILL- won’t be able to afford the bills and the roof over our head. Our families are helping the best they can, but they themselves have limitations. We have and currently looking into all programs that may help us get us back on our feet.
If anyone has webites, phone numbers, etc of agencies/organizations that help people, who are willing to meet us half way -PLEASE- do share. Thank you.

If you have no income, you may need to look at alternate housing arrangements.
Try contacting your local Catholic Charities to see if they may have any housing options available for your, and/or if they can offer you any referrals or suggestions to find affordable housing.

My family is in desperate need of help. Our rent is do Sept 5th and we only have just over half and can’t find any help to make it. Also our power bill is long past due and we have to pay atleast half to keep it on. This all arose when I lost almost all my hours at work. I work 7 hrs a week and my husbands pay check will not cover everything
Our son is in dire need to be see by a psychologist because his pediatrician thinks he may be mildly autistic. What insurance I do have through work will not cover him to be seen nor evaluated and we can’t afford to pay out of pocket. If he was to be diagnosed we could get financial help so we could get him the treatment he needs bit without that diagnosis there is nothing we can do. I have been looking for another job for 3 months and haven’t found anything that can work with my husbands schedule and our one car and babysitting life. We are in dire need of help and never expected to be in this position and its very hard to handle. If someone could please help us it would be greatly appreciated. My uncle is trying to get us a house with a much lower monthly payment to help save money to help our son and our situation but is not having any luck.
